Fatal Collision Closes Westbound 401 Through Ingersoll
One Person Dead After Two Tractor-Trailers Collide

One person has died and the westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours following a fatal collision Tuesday just south of Ingersoll.
According to Ontario Provincial Police, the collision occurred around 5:25 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2024, when two tractor-trailers collided on Highway 401 near Ingersoll, Ontario. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed between Highway 19 and Highway 2 to allow for police investigation and cleanup. The highway reopened around 10:30 p.m. that evening.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
